Capacity-Building Committee

The EFC member-led Capacity Building Committee supports one of the Centre's core objectives of boosting the professional capacities of independent funders in Europe. Work in this area is based on the assumption that building a knowledgeable and skilful staff and board are pre-requisites for creating and maintaining a foundation that provides excellent service to those organisations and communities with which it works.

Over 2008 the EFC Capacity Building Committee commissioned a review of EFC capacity building activities. The EFC membership and partners responded in force, with over 100 organisations participating in the review, the result of which is the below report, 'Building Talent and Excellence within Foundations' produced by the external consultant, Mr David Carrington. This report will form the basis of future EFC capacity building work, which will be launched in 2009.
