About the European Foundation Centre

The EFC is an international association of foundations and corporate funders dedicated to:

Creating an enabling legal and fiscal environment for foundations
Documenting the foundation landscape
Strengthening the infrastructure of the sector
Promoting collaboration, both among foundations and between foundations and other actors

Established in 1989, the Centre is an independent international not-for-profit association under Belgian law. Ultimate authority vests in the EFC Annual General Assembly of Members, with governance entrusted to an elected Governing Council, supported by a Management Committee.

Membership of the Centre implies commitment to the EFC brand. Members agree to adhere to the principles and objectives set out in the Prague Declaration, and the EFC Principles of Good Practice endorsed by members and revised and updated on an ongoing basis.

Calling all members – Help revise the EFC Principles of Good Practice

The EFC is looking for volunteers from its membership to join a task force to work on revising its 'Principles of Good Practice' - a set of aspirational standards which all members sign up to when they join the EFC.

Five new members join the EFC - Welcome on board!

Erik Rudeng appointed as the new Chair of the EFC

Erik Rudeng was appointed the new Chair of the EFC at an Extraordinary General Assembly of members during the first-ever Autumn Assembly, which took place on 7 November at the European Economic and Social Committee.
