Europa Hotel and Assembly Buildings, Great Victoria Street, Belfast, NI

More than 500 delegates will convene in Belfast from 6-8 June for the 23rd EFC Annual General Assembly and Conference to debate foundations’ role in achieving peace through social justice. Northern Ireland’s capital, which has emerged from thirty years of conflict to establish itself as a prominent destination, provides an apt location for lively conference debates and discussions on an issue that still resonates to the core of the city.

The conference will use Belfast’s historic backdrop to explore peace and social justice issues from a variety of regions around the globe. From engaging conference sessions to inspiring site visits, delegates will have the opportunity to witness how a former conflict zone can transform a violent past into a vibrant present. Specifically, they will be able to see how foundations can play a key role in supporting this process.

The Belfast conference will be the essential meeting place in 2012 for foundation professionals from Europe and around the world to learn about, share and debate issues surrounding peace and social justice and other pressing philanthropic topics from education to the financial crisis. In addition, delegates will have the perfect opportunity to network with their peers during informal social events, including a gala dinner at the magnificent Titanic Centre - birthplace of the fateful ship.
