Estoril Coast is the first tourist region in Portugal, and was formerly known internationally as the Portuguese Riviera. The election of this region as a tourist and leisure spot goes back to the late nineteenth century, and is currently considered by economic agencies as the main contribution and cause of development in Cascais. The village of Cascais hosts the EFC 22nd Annual General Assembly and Conference and invites all participants to a dinner at Casino Estoril. During the dinner a Fado spectacle will be offered. |

Opened in 1998, the Oceanário was the centerpiece of the XXth Century's last World Fair, and eternally binds Lisbon to the Oceans. The Oceanário continuously develops new educational activities, focused on today's environmental challenges. This is one of the reasons why the Oceanário supports multiple scientific research projects, most of which focused on conservation of biodiversity and a sustainable use of the oceans. This visit will be followed by a dinner at the Portugal Pavilion. |

Opened in September 2009, the Casa das Histórias Paula Rêgo is already a reference point on the national and international cultural map. The aim behind the Casa das Histórias is to encourage greater understanding and enjoyment of Paula Rêgo’s work and its artistic influences through a representative set of paintings, drawings and engravings. Besides this collection, which also includes a series of works by the painter and art critic Victor Willing, the artist’s deceased husband, the Casa das Histórias holds temporary exhibitions and a wide range of related activities consisting of guided visits, film screenings, workshops, seminars and the publishing of catalogues and other editions. |

The Museu Calouste Gulbenkian houses the Art Collection of Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian, (1869-1955). The museum holds a collection of 6000 pieces and its galleries exhibit over 1400 pieces divided into Egyptian Art, Greco-Roman Art, Mesopotamian Art, Eastern Islamic Art, Armenian Art, Far Eastern Art, Sculpture, Art of the Book, Decorative Arts and works by René Lalique which Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian acquired directly from the artist. In painting, works by Van der Weyden, Ghirlandaio, Rubens, Rembrandt, Guardi, Fragonard, Turner, Renoir, Manet, Degas and Monet stand out |

| The conscience of the importance of the maritime patrimony of Cascais provided to conditions for the creation of a dedicated museum to the sea, thus being born the Museum of Sea D. Carlos. The Farol-Museu de Santa Marta was born from the fort and lighthouse. The works of adaptation had had beginning in 2006, creating a space of culture and leisure, even so keeping its functions of coastal signaling. |

Belém is linked to Portugal’s Golden Age of Discoveries as the site where the famous navigators set sail to discover the world. Today it is a spacious green suburb with many gardens, parks and monuments that are well worth a visit. Amongst Belém’s attractions are the Jerónimos Monastery, the Monument to the Discoveries, the Torre de Belém, the Belém Cultural Centre and Rua Vieira Portuense. |
