The International Fellowship Programme for Learning and Exchange in Philanthropy (IFP) aims to increase the capacity for leadership in the European civil society sector. By "placing" fellows in or exchanging fellows among institutions for up to one month, civil society and foundation staff get the opportunity to develop their professional skills with a practical and international orientation. Both large and small third sector organisations can improve the management competences of their staff and trigger or deepen contacts and cooperation between non-profits across Europe.
Moving forward into its sixth round with the support of a consortium of EFC members, in 2010 the IFP saw the participation of 11 fellows from 11 European countries, with a focus on topics such as advocacy, grant-making, programming and impact assessment, community outreach and fundraising. The programme is open to participants from all European countries.
Who can participate? Candidates for Fellowships should be university graduates with at least three years of professional experience. They should have been working at their home institutions for no less then two years and either be a "young leader" or "senior manager". They have to be nominated by one of our members or partners.
Want to become a Host or Sending Institution? Would you like to be hosting a fellow within your instutution or nominating own staff to participate? Please contact us and you are welcome to join our pool of Host- and Sending Institutions!
