Championing Diversity 

Launched in May 2009, this publication is the result of the “Championing Diversity” project carried out under the leadership of the EFC Diversity, Migration and Integration Interest Group (DMIIG) aiming to provide foundations with tools and ideas to reap on the opportunities of diversity through illustrating promising practices, promoting learning, and demonstrating innovative attempts to encourage diversity.

The publication consist of five case studies illustrating that with creativity and good will much can be accomplished to develop positive change while continuing to honour and respect the wishes or mandates of initial donors. These are framed against the broader background of diversity and the challenges and opportunities represented for broader society. The publication demonstrates the many different and complex ways in which foundation have attempted to address the broad issue of diversity as well as in-process, both internally and externally.

“Championing Diversity” aims to act as a starting point for a timely conversation about diversity and what it represents for effectiveness in the foundation sector.
