The EFC Interest Group on Diversity, Migration and Integration (DMIIG) convenes foundations with the aim to promote good practice through fostering networking; exchanging and collecting information on promising practices; enhancing knowledge and building intelligence on the sector; and communicating and coordinating foundations interested in the fields of diversity and migration.
The DMIIG, launched in 2006, is the result of the merging of the former EFC Migration Interest Group and EFC Minorities and Multiculturalism Interest Group and focuses on two major themes; namely migration and migrant integration and tackling intolerance.
The DMIIG also acts as a platform for knowledge sharing regarding common areas of interest and is a contact point with key external actors, including the European Commission.
What we do:
- Periodic meetings to share and identify effective programme, advocacy and organising strategies both individually and collectively
- Identification and analysis of migration and integration activities of European foundations
- Development of tools and strategies to share and create knowledge on the sector, for example the DMIIG e-Newsletter, DMIIG extranet, etc.
- Act as hub of EFC activity on issues relating to diversity, migration and migrant integration
