During the Forum’s launch meeting, Founding members and stakeholders reached a decision to begin the first phase of the Forum’s implementation by organising three separate but interlinked workshops on the themes of:
- awareness-raising, focus on remembrance (Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future”)
- self-employment and microcredit (Erste Foundation)
- early childhood development (Bernard van Leer Foundation)
Each of the workshops to be led by the above-identified foundations will bring together foundations and stakeholders with the aim of developing recommendations to be fed into the EU Roma agenda.
Core activities also include:
- 2 Meetings of the EFC Forum for Roma Inclusion to be held in 2010, creation of mechanisms for sharing information and knowledge management
- Collection of good practices and evidence from foundations and development of recommendations for Roma inclusion
- Dissemination of good practices and recommendations to policy and decision-makers
- Active participation in relevant identified events – for example Roma Summit 2010, European Year 2010 for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, etc.
Other proposed activities:
Additional activities for development can be proposed by individual members of the Forum. Members of the Forum are asked to consider the development of these activities in the framework of the Forum’s programme, including partnerships, involvement of stakeholders and funding.
