European Commission, Directorate General Health and Consumer Protection
The work of DG Health and Consumer Protection is divided into three areas: Public Health, Food Safety and Consumer Affairs. The Public Health section manages and develops laws on matters such as the safety and quality of blood, blood derivates, human tissues and human cells used in medical treatments and also laws restricting tobacco advertising and regulating other aspects of how cigarettes are manufactured and sold.

World Health Organisation Health Evidence Network
The Health Evidence Network (HEN) is a new project initiated and coordinated by the WHO Regional Office for Europe. It providers information service primarily for public health and health care decision-makers in the WHO European Region in form of answers to questions to support the decision-making process and easy access to sources of evidence such as databases, documents and networks of experts.

OECD Health Data
The OECD Health Data covers a range of policy relevant topics, from population health status and non-medical determinants of health to health care resources and their utilisation. OECD Health Data 2005 is a comprehensive source of comparable statistics on health and health systems across OECD countries. It aims to serve as a tool for health researchers and policy advisors in governments, the private sector and the academic community, to carry out comparative analyses and draw lessons from international comparisons of diverse health care systems.
