Robert Bosch Stiftung launches English language version of AcademiaNet
(25/01/2012 )

AcademiaNet is a portal which contains profiles of excellent female researchers in all fields of academia from Germany and Europe. The website was created by the Robert Bosch Stiftung in cooperation with “Spektrum der Wissenschaft” as well as renowned partner organisations from the sciences, humanities and industry.  The portal database was launched on November 2, 2010, by German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel.

The goal of the project is to use this site to bring excellent female scientists and scholars to the attention of those who sit on academic boards, hold executive positions, report on research, are responsible for conference planning, or who require an expert’s opinion when making decisions.

Articles on “Women in Research” and success stories about the female scientists and scholars in the database are also published on the site. The database is now available in both English and German. The English news is supported by Nature.
