Announcing Two Exciting Capacity Building Events for June in Milan!
The European Learning Lab 2011 and the TIEPOLO Knowledge Sharing Meeting
The EFC is pleased to announce two exciting new events to take place in June! Both events are collaborations between the EFC and Fondazione Cariplo. The first event, the European Learning Lab, taking place on June 20-21, offers foundation programme and project managers opportunities to share and exchange knowledge of foundation practices; learn about new tools, techniques and approaches to enhance current foundation practices and processes; and identify benchmarking opportunities that allow organisations to compare practices and reflect upon and improve processes. The focus of this year’s Lab is “Managing Relationships for Project Success’, looking at the role of ‘stakeholders’ within the project management cycle and the processes for identifying, engaging, and managing them. The series includes three short learning events, each 1½ days, taking place on June 20-21; October 10-11; and November 28-29. Participants selected to take part in the event are expected to attend all three sessions. All sessions take place in Milan, Italy. Applications are currently being accepted through capacity-building@efc.be.
The second event is a Knowledge Sharing Meeting of the Tailor-Made International Exchange Programme Offering Learning Opportunities (TIEPOLO) taking place in Milan on 22 June, from 8:30 to 14:00. In this meeting, findings of the pilot phase exchange programme placements with Bosch Stiftung, the Wellcome Trust, the Foundation for Polish Science, and Fondazione Cariplo will be shared and discussed. The first Tiepolists and their Mentors will have the opportunity to share their experiences with the audience, illustrating chosen exchange paths on the themes of “Unconventional and High-Risk Research”, “Science Communication & Public Understanding of Science” and “Evaluation”.. The meeting will highlight how TIEPOLO can be effectively used for benchmarking among foundations, in all philanthropic areas, from Scientific Research to Arts & Culture. Italian and European foundations wishing to join TIEPOLO as sending and hosting institutions are encouraged to participate in this meeting.
