The EFC Children and Youth Funders Group (CYG) in partnership with the Social Reasearch Unit is organising a study visit to take place on 27-28 March 2012 in Birmingham, UK.

The study visit will aim to advance learning and joint reflection on the implementation of evidence-based programmes related to children.

The programme will feature:

  • discussions on the development and implementation of the Brighter Futures Strategy;
  • a detailed look at three evidence-based programmes that have been implemented in Birmingham;
  • discussions with lead figures from Birmingham and national figures from philanthropy and policy;
  • a visit to a local children’s centre;
  • discussions on Social Research Unit's tools that were used to develop the Brighter Futures Strategy; and
  • a funders only reflection on lessons learnt.

Participation is open to EFC member foundations that support children and youth issues.

The participation fee is €225 and includes meeting participation, two lunches, coffee breaks, dinner on 27 March and transportation costs for the site visits.
