EU Call to Action

    The European Commission is seeking views from interested parties on EU policy developments and actions. These public consultations offer EFC members an opportunity to contribute to the definition of future EU priorities. Open consultations at present relate to:

    • Nanotechnologies action plan 2010-2015. The objective of this public consultation is to invite views on the needs in nanotechnology in the next five years, as perceived by experts active in the field and by the public at large. Deadline: 19/02/2010. Read more
    • Final Report of the Expert Group on e-Invoicing. This consultation seeks to strengthen and deepen the Commission services’ understanding of the way forward to promote uptake of electronic invoicing within the EU. The objective of this consultation is to collect stakeholders’ reactions on the recommendations proposed by the Expert Group on e-Invoicing in the areas of business requirements, legal framework, interoperability and standards, as well as the proposed approach for implementation and communication.     • Application of EU legislation in the field of air passenger rights. The aim of the consultation is to gather stakeholders' opinions on the existing problems and preferred solutions in order to assess the quality and effectiveness of the implementation and enforcement of Air Passengers' Rights legislation. Deadline: 01/03/2010. Read more
    • Consultation on the International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities. Consultation on the International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities. The objective of this consultation is to gain an understanding of EU stakeholders' views on the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) for Small and Medium-sized Entities (SMEs) issued by the International Accounting Standards Board on 9 July 2009. The Commission is especially interested to receive comments from the users of accounts, such as business, banks and investors. Deadline: 12/03/2010. Read more 

    • Consultation on the future EU – US international agreement on personal data protection and information sharing for law enforcement purposes. In addition to this electronic consultation, the Commission is organising meetings to seek the views of personal data protection authorities of the European Economic Area, European Union Member States' ministries for justice, home affairs as well as law enforcement authorities, and private sector representatives.
