Action 1: Active Citizens for Europe

    • Measure 1.1: Town twinning citizens’ meetings: This measure is aimed at activities that involve or promote direct exchanges between European citizens through their participation in town-twinning activities.   Deadline: several deadlines throughout 2010| Budget: EUR 7 million
    • Measure 1.2: Networks of twinned towns: This measure supports the development of networks created on the basis of town twinning links, which are important for ensuring structured, intense and multifaceted cooperation among municipalities Deadline: several deadlines throughout 2010| Budget: EUR 5.165 million
    • Measure 2.1 - Citizens’ projects, aims at exploring original and innovative methodologies capable of encouraging citizens’ participation and stimulating the dialogue between European citizens and the institutions of the European Union. Deadline: 01/06/2010| Budget: EUR 1.5 million
    • Measure 2.2: Support measures: This measure supports the exchange of experiences, expertise and good practice, as well as activities which may lead to the establishment of long-lasting partnerships and networks. Deadline: 01/06/2010| Budget: EUR 1.5 million

Action 4: Active European Remembrance: The aim of projects supported under this action is to keep alive the memory of the victims of Nazism and Stalinism and to improve the knowledge and understanding of present and future generations about what took place in the camps and other places of mass-civilian extermination, and why. Deadline: 30/04/2010| Budget: EUR 1.8 million

 

  • Call for proposals expanding partnership actions coordinated by socio-economic CSOs

    The overall objective of this Call for Proposals is to develop strong regional partnerships among CSOs concerned with socio-economic issues from the region itself and with their EU counterparts and public authorities as well as to improve the transparency and the accountability of CSOs.

    Activities that may qualify for financing include:

    • Organisation and implementation of workshops, information events, training actions, internships, communication and awareness campaigns so as to increase understanding among the CSOs on relevant EU laws and their impact for social and economic operators, as well as to encourage a common approach throughout the region;
    • Provision of training and expert advice to strengthen the capacity of CSOs in assisting/advising their members, other stakeholders and/or the outside world on the implementation and impact of the relevant EU legislation;
    • Organisation and implementation of partnership activities to link business associations, trade unions, think-thank, watchdogs and other relevant CSOs with each other and with other essential stakeholders;
    • Establishment of communication platforms/tools to promote and exchange good practices and to formulate concrete recommendations and practical solutions.

The purpose of this call for proposals is to select EU-level NGO networks to work with the Commission and receive Union support on a stable and regular basis for the period 2011-2013. The Union support is intended to cover the costs inherent in the functioning of a European NGO network over a period that is equivalent to its accounting period. The Commission intends to conclude framework partnerships with key actors in the areas of:

  • promoting social inclusion, Budget: EUR 27 million
  • combating discrimination, Budget: EUR 13.8 million
  • promoting gender equality, Budget: EUR 4.2 million
  • integrating persons with disabilities, Budget: EUR 3.6 million
  • representing the Roma: Budget: EUR 600 thousand

The main objectives of this Call for Proposals are to encourage  the development of sustainable partnerships and networks among cultural organisations in the Western Balkans and Turkey in order to contribute towards an increased involvement and ownership among CSOs as well as citizens in the cultural field. Actions that may qualify for financing include:

    • Foster exchange of information and experience among cultural operators including artists and cultural professionals in the region and the EU;
    • Foster circulation and access of works of art in the region and the EU;
    • Support regional initiatives/partnerships highlighting the role of culture in economic development, social inclusion , conflict prevention/resolution, inter-cultural dialogue etc.
    • Cooperation between CSOs aimed at preserving cultural heritage, including educational activities and innovative cooperation between heritage and contemporary creations
