On 15 January 2010 the EFC shared its views on this important strategy which will guide EU policies in the next ten years in the context of the public consultation launched by the European Commission on the issue.

EU heads of state and government are expected to adopt the overall approach of the strategy and the EU headline targets at their EU summit on 25-26 March 2010 with a view to reaching an agreement on the detailed parameters of the strategy, including the integrated guidelines for 'Europe 2020' and country-specific targets, at the 17-18 June 2010 summit.
