The European Environmental Funders Group (EEFG) will convene on 23-24 April 2012 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The meeting is kindly hosted by the Oak Foundation and MAVA Foundation and aims to bring together Swiss and European Environmental Funders.
The programme will give participants the opportunity to:
- meet key actors within the Swiss philanthropic sector, with an interest on the environment, and identify potential issues of common interest
- interact with some of the world’s leading experts working at the interface of global economic growth, labour markets, the environment, and changing patterns of human consumption and reflect on the needs for strategic and holistic approaches to tackling environmental issues
- learn from experiences of your peers, identify opportunities for collaboration, discuss and take decisions about how our group of environmental funders should function in future, in the most cost efficient and productive manner.

About the European Environmental Funders Group (EEFG):
EEFG is an emerging network of foundations across Europe active in the fields of environment, sustainable development and climate change. The network is coordinated by the European Foundation Centre (EFC) and provides a platform for learning, networking and identification of synergies. The EEFG’s first meeting was held in Brussels in January 2008, and since then more than 50 foundations have been involved in the group’s activities. In September 2011, the group launched the study ‘Environmental Funding by European Foundations: A snapshot’ which represents the most systematic study to date of support for environmental initiatives by European foundations.
