Call for proposals for the implementation of Erasmus Mundus II
The Erasmus Mundus programme's overall aim is to promote European higher education, to help improve and enhance the career prospects of students and to promote intercultural understanding through cooperation with third countries. Under this call for proposals, the following actions can be undertaken:
- Action 1 — joint programmes: this action aims at fostering cooperation between higher education institutions and academic staff in Europe and third countries with a view to creating poles of excellence and providing highly trained human resources. Budget: This call for proposals has no direct budgetary impact in 2010
- Action 2 — partnerships : aims at fostering structured cooperation between European and third-country higher education institutions through the promotion of mobility at all level of studies for students (undergraduate and masters), doctoral candidates, researchers, academic and administrative staff. Budget: EUR 105,2 million
- Action 3 — promotion of European higher education: this action aims at promoting European higher education through activities like conferences, seminars, workshops, studies, analyses, pilot projects, prizes, and international networks which may take place anywhere in the world. Budget: EUR 1 million

Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) 2010
The Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) supports learning opportunities from childhood to old age in every single life situation. LLP is composed of four sub-programmes:
- Comenius - for schools
- Erasmus - Higher Education
- Leonardo Da Vinci - Vocational Education and Training
- Grundtvig - Adult Education
Four key activities:
- Policy cooperation and innovation in education and training
- Languages and language learning
- Development of ICT-based content and services
- Dissemination and exploitation of results of the programme
Jean Monnet Programme, to support institutions and actions in favour of European integration
