The President of the European Cultural Foundation (ECF), HRH Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands, will be presented with the Herbert-Batliner-Europa Prize on 25 July in Salzburg. ECF received the award for its achievements in creating stronger European cultural policies.
The Herbert-Batliner-Europa Prize is awarded every two years to a person or organisation in recognition of the impact of their work across a region in the political, scientific, cultural or economic field.
The Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Jean Claude Juncker (2008) and the former President of Letland, Vaira Vike-Freiberga (2006) were the last two winners. The award is designed by artist Lotte Ranft and brings with it an amount of 30,000 euros.
