A new book entitled 'Amercian foundations: Roles and contributions' brings together a series of in-depth essays exploring how foundations have shaped - or failed to shape - key fields of American life from the arts to education.
Edited by Helmut Anheier and David Hammack with contributions from leading researchers, the book is the product of a three-year project supported by the Aspen Institute’s programme on the non-profit sector and philanthropy.
What can we in the Europe learn from American foundations’ successes and failures in creating long term change? The book is to be launched this October in Europe at a series of events in London, Brussels and Berlin.
