Bertelsmann Stiftung has published a follow up essay to the publication ‘Making the European Union work: Issues for Economic Governance Reform’ from March 2011. 

Written by Iain Begg, Professorial Research Fellow at the European Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science, the essay is entitled ‘Fiscal union for the euro area: an overdue and necessary scenario?’

In the essay, Professor. Begg argues in favour of closer fiscal union as a welcome solution to the problems that have afflicted the euro over the last two years.
