The EFC shared its views on how citizens can reap the benefits of the internal market with Mario Monti former EU commissioner for internal market and competition who was commissioned a report on the relaunch of the Internal Market by José Manuel Barroso, EU Commission President.

The EFC stressed the need of repositioning citizens’ rights and concerns at the heart of the market and the value of the European Foundation Statute in this regard. Mr Monti gave “a flavour” of his report at the occasion of the 2010 Brussels Tax Forum that the EFC secretariat attended on 1-2 March 2010.
