The Institute for Philanthropy and The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund will host a breakfast seminar with the support of The Tubney Charitable Trust, to present a new research paper on spend out trusts and foundations in the UK.
The spend out model, in which trusts and foundations spend their assets within a designated timeframe, has not been as widely adopted in the UK as in the USA, and little research has been carried out on the topic on this side of the Atlantic. With the aim of beginning to fill this gap, the Institute for Philanthropy’s research paper examines the profile, motivations and experiences of spend out in the UK context.
At this breakfast seminar, the Institute for Philanthropy will present the findings of its research, followed by a panel discussion with the following speakers:
John Bothamley, Founder Trustee, Four Acre Trust
Colin McCrea, Senior Vice President and Country Representative, Republic of Ireland, The Atlantic Philanthropies
Ann Phillips, Partner, Charities & Education Team, Stone King Sewell Solicitors
Jessica Sklair, Director for Research, Institute for Philanthropy
The event will take place on 31 March at 9 am, at The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, the County Hall, Westminster Bridge Road, London
