The EFC and its partners have just released a document spelling out why a European Foundation Statute (EFS) is so urgently needed. The publication, entitled It's time for a European Foundation Statute, is intended as an appeal to all decision-makers in the institutions and Member States to take up the cause of the EFS to deliver a long overdue, pan-European instrument for the public good of Europe’s citizens.
It would not only be a tool for the benefit of endowed, grantmaking and public benefit foundations, but also individuals, as well as fundraising and operating charities and trusts, and the wider third sector as a whole. It would enable simpler management, more efficient administration, and increased mobility and responsiveness.
