The EFC is very pleased to welcome on board two new Members: Fondazione Giorgio Cini Onlus from Italy and Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr from Portugal.
Fondazione Giorgio Cini Onlus (Italy)
This independent trustee-controlled foundation was established in 1951 to promote the redevelopment of the monumental complex on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore (Venice, Italy) and encourage the creation and development of educational, social, cultural and artistic institutions in its surrounding territory.
The foundation is known worldwide as a breeding ground for humanities studies. Over the years it has also acquired a reputation as a wider-ranging study centre and a venue for meetings and debates on current political and social issues.

Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr (Portugal)
The Institute Marquês de Valle Flôr (IMVF) was founded in 1951 to promote socio-economic and cultural development in Portuguese speaking countries.
In the beginning, IMVF was predominantly focused on scientific research and the improvement of socio-economic conditions in the former Portuguese colonies, mainly on the island of São Tomé. When Portugal joined the EEC in 1985, new partnerships were started and the Institute extended its projects into the areas of cooperation and education, as well as humanitarian aid.
The institute is presently responsible for the management of about 40 projects, covering the areas of cooperation, development education and humanitarian aid.
