The 1st Basel Convention on Philanthropy will take place in Basel on 19 and 20 November 2018. The two-day event under the theme “a plea for collaboration” will focus on current societal challenges and the role of philanthropy.
Top-class keynote speakers and exciting panel discussions will be accompanied by World Cafés and Unconferences to offer all participants enough space for exchange and networking. The Convention is organised by the Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) of the University of Basel.

About the Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS)
The Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) at the University of Basel is an interdisciplinary research and executive education institute, specialised on the non-profit sector and dealing with the multifaceted topic of philanthropy. The institute was established in 2008 through an initiative by SwissFoundations, the Association of Swiss Grantmaking Foundations. It is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
The aim of the CEPS is to improve both the scientific foundation of and the knowledge about philanthropy. Furthermore, CEPS provides a direct benefit for foundations and other non-profit organisations through executive education and coaching.
