31 January 2017 – 3:30 – 4:30pm GMT
The International Education Funders Group (IEFG) and Elevate Children Funders Group (ECFG) will be co-hosting a webinar discussing findings and implications of the recent report, #CostingEquity: The case for disability-responsive education financing, which was recently launched at the UN. The report, developed by Light for the World and the International Disability and Development Consortium, surveys bilateral and multilateral donors and domestic resources on disability-inclusive education. Through their findings, it is apparent that there is a lack of funding and aid specifically earmarked for this target group, often leaving households to contribute themselves. By developing guidance on costing out and budgeting for disability-inclusive education, domestic financing can also leverage the Sustainable Development Goals’ numerous notes on disabilities and build on the clear return on investment.
We invite you to join our conversation about the report’s findings, next steps for donors and additional considerations with a human rights lens. Presenters will include Dragana Sretenov (Open Society Foundations), Nafisa Baboo (Light for the World) and Diane Richler (Canadian Association for Community Living).
Please RSVP by 27 January – firstname.lastname@example.org.
