    The Aga Khan Centre (AKC) is the new UK home for several education and development institutions founded by His Highness the Aga Khan. Designed primarily as an academic building for teaching and research, the organisations based at Aga Khan Centre work to increase understanding of Muslim civilisations and improve the quality of life of some of the world’s most disadvantaged communities.

    2018 European Economic and Social Committee Civil Society Prize

    Organised by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), this years Civil Society Prize theme is ”Identities, European Values and Cultural Heritage in Europe”. The prize will reward innovative initiatives carried out by civil society organisations and/or individuals, aimed at raising awareness of the multiple layers and richness of European identities, exploiting the full potential of Europe’s cultural wealth, facilitating access to European cultural heritage and promoting European values, including respect for human dignity and human rights, freedom, democracy, equality and the rule of law.

    OECD to establish Centre on Philanthropy – providing data and analysis for the global philanthropy sector

    The OECD has decided to set up a Centre on Philanthropy to help contribute to the global demand for more and better data on global philanthropy for development. Recognising that private funding for development is increasing in a sector that remains relatively unknown, the centre will aim to bring together efforts from existing research  and projects, and provide analysis and impact of philanthropy in the context of the 2030 Agenda.

    As the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation celebrates the publication of their 10th Annual Letter in 2018, they answer ten tough questions that they are regularly faced with. Inviting anyone who is interested to get involved and propose their own questions, they will answer as honestly and forthrightly as they can, hoping to spread their optimism about the future!

    Leveraging opportunity for grant-makers willing to fund educational poverty initiatives in Italy

    In the aim to tackle educational poverty in Italy, an exciting new leveraging opportunity has been introduced by CON I BAMBINI. International and Italian grant-makers can now aim to maximise their financial contribution with access to a recently established fund, totally 10 million euro, called Fondo per il contrasto della Povertà Educativa Minorile (Fund Against Educational Poverty in Children and Youth). This fund is open to making contributions from 250.000 euros to 1.500.000 euros to match contributions from international and Italian grant-makers.
