    Leveraging opportunity for grant-makers willing to fund educational poverty initiatives in Italy

    In the aim to tackle educational poverty in Italy, an exciting new leveraging opportunity has been introduced by CON I BAMBINI. International and Italian grant-makers can now aim to maximise their financial contribution with access to a recently established fund, totally 10 million euro, called Fondo per il contrasto della Povertà Educativa Minorile (Fund Against Educational Poverty in Children and Youth). This fund is open to making contributions from 250.000 euros to 1.500.000 euros to match contributions from international and Italian grant-makers.

    Yuste Foundation announces deadline for the submission of nominations of the Carlos V European Award

    Established by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, the Carlos V European Award aims to reward the work of people, organisations, projects or initiatives that have contributed to the general knowledge and enhancement of Europe’s culture, social, scientific and historical values, as well as encouraging construction and integration.

    Managing Director of Siemens Stiftung honored for international educational commitment

    Early in December, Nathalie von Siemens was was honored for the educational commitment of the Siemens Stiftung by the Mexican non-profit organisation INNOVEC (Innovación en la Enseñanza de la Ciencia A. C.) at the International Conference on Inquiry-Based Science Education in Mexico city.

    Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announces new initiative focusing on the education and empowerment of youth in the 21st century

    Earlier this month, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation introduced a new Grand Challenges initiative offering grant opportunities. In collaboration with the Misk Foundation, the Misk Grand Challenges has been launched. The Misk Foundation is a non-profit philanthropic foundation, established by Saudi Arabias Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, and this initiative aims to empower youth with both the skills they needs to succeed in the knowledge economy and with the abilities required to tackle the worlds most challenging problems.

    5th Evens Prize for Media Education 2017 – call for entries

    The extended deadline for the 5th Evens Prize for Media Education, to be awarded in 2017, is approaching fast. This edition of the prize aims at all European initiatives that creatively contribute to increasing a critical attitude towards media, together with the target group of young people. The prize money of €25,000 will be awarded by the external jury of international experts and the Evens Foundation.

    Mott Foundation marks $3 billion in giving over 90 years

    As it celebrates nine decades of helping to strengthen communities at home and around the world, the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation has announced that it has surpassed $3 billion in total grantmaking since its launch on June 19, 1926. The milestone was reached as the Foundation made a $5 million grant to help its hometown of Flint recover and rise from the city’s water crisis.
