Alberto Anfossi is the new Secretary General of Compagnia di San Paolo. He is taking over the position from predecessor Piero Gastaldo, who had been Secretary General since 2001. A strong believer in and supporter of European philanthropic infrastructure, Mr Gastaldo further developed Compagnia’s international outlook, including further East (for example support to the Balkan Trust for Democracy).
Mr Anfossi is 40 years old and comes from the scientific world (MA and PhD in Physics). He previously worked for Politecnico di Torino and the Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN). He joined Compagnia di San Paolo Sistema Torino in 2013 where he worked initially as fundraiser and then director.
