Capitalising on momentum built at EuroPhilantopics 2017, the EFC joined forces with DAFNE and EVPA to be at the forefront of advocating for the creation of an effective legal and regulatory framework for institutional philanthropy, social innovation and investments.

Following the European Commission’s DG Economic and Financial Affairs (ECFIN) strategy workshop on 12 March about a potential strategic partnership with Europe’s philanthropy sector as part of the new Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the three associations are now preparing their proposal with the aim to introduce a new cooperation mechanism connecting EC and philanthropic investments and foresee guarantees for foundations willing to invest some of their endowment in mission related investments.

The European Commission needs to finalise its proposal by 20 April 2018.
