The EFC’s Enabling Environment Manager, Hanna Surmatz is due to speak at the Mécènes Forum 2018 on the topic of overcoming the barriers to cross-border philanthropy. 

The third edition of the Mécènes Forum, titled ”Building European Philanthropy” takes place on the 11th October at the Collège de France, Paris, and aims to provide participants with an insight into innovative philanthropic initiatives from across Europe. The one day event will see, among other discussions, Ms Surmatz briefly present, to a mixture of professors from the Collège, and business, intellectual and political leaders, upon the existing barriers to cross border philanthropy, the concept of the European Foundation Statute and future plans to enlarge the space for philanthropy in Europe.

The Mécènes Forum is an annual event organised by EFC affiliate, Admical ,which offers a chance to for discussions and sharing between experts and professionals through a pan-European lens.
