On the 16th December Fondazione Cariplo, one of the most influential organisations in philanthropy not only in Italy, but throughout Europe and the world, is celebrating its 25th birthday with a special event in Milan.

Along with the President of Fondazione Cariplo, Giuseppe Guzzetti, guests include: Maurizio Martina, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry; Romano Prodi, Fondazione per la Collaborazione fra i Popoli; Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan; Cardinal Angelo Scola, archbishop of Milan; Mario Calabresi, Director of la Repubblica; Luciano Fontana, director of Corriere della Sera; Eraldo Affinati, writer and teacher; Catia Bastioli, Novamont CEO and president Terna; Derrick de Kerckhove, a sociologist and director of Media Duemila; Stephane Jaquemet, UNHCR delegate for Southern Europe; Massimo Lapucci, President-elect of the European Foundation Centre; Stefano Taravella, Unicef ​​Italy; Sergio Urbani, director general of Fondazione Cariplo.

Since 1991, Fondazione Cariplo has supported more than 30,000 projects by donating more than 2.8 billion Euros, in four areas of activity: social services (955 million euro to 14,094 projects), arts and culture (948.4 million euro for 11,212 projects), scientific research (421 million euro for 764 projects), and the environment (EUR 145 million for 1,835 projects).
