A new study by Chatham House, supported by our members Stiftung Mercator, Robert Bosch Stiftung, King Baudouin Foundation and ERSTE Stiftung, reveals six political ‘tribes’ across Europe with different views about the EU and its future.

Chatham house and Kantar Public asked more than 10,000 Europeans about their views on the EU and current political issues and after analysing the data, they identified six political ‘tribes’ across Europe.  These ‘tribes’ go beyond borders and reveal members that share similar opinions and life experiences. Their findings suggest that there are distinctive groups that exist across Europe with different sets of attitudes and that individuals within these groups behave similarly at elections. The goal was to identify these groups and compare the characteristics of each.
