In Germany the non-governmental organisation, which was acknowledged by the state, was founded by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1986 and became an registered association in 1987.

As part of a globally operating network comprised of 140 country offices, ADRA helps millions of people every year, independent of their political or religious position.
Programme areas
- FOCUS ECOLOGY
ADRA is able to support the spreading of and access to renewable energy in Somaliland, Puntland and southern central-Somalia.

- FOCUS AFRICA

ADRA Germany is a founding member of ”United for Africa”. ”United for Africa” is a union comprised of more than 20 relief and developmental organizations. All participating organizations are dedicated to a common cause: the improvement of Africa’s living conditions.

- FOCUS DISASTER RELIEF

Due to the extensive experience in cooperating with developing countries, which usually involves victims of natural disasters or humanly caused catastrophes, ADRA strives to aid and provide immediate relief in the case of a crisis. ADRA supports humanitarian help by providing sustainance, clothing, temporary housing and medical assistance.
