The Evens Foundation presents Conflict Matters 2017, a major European conference for education professionals, researchers, policy makers and parents, organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge, and the British Academy.
In response to the increasing discords and polarisation in our societies, this edition will address major educational challenges: teaching controversies, dealing with polarisation, working with communities, decolonising education, youth violence, and educating political subjectivities. As a unique gathering of education practitioners and researchers, the conference will feature contributions by internationally acclaimed scholars and a series of experiential sessions to transform societal tensions and controversies into learning opportunities in the classroom and beyond.
The conference is free of charge, but the number of seats is limited.
Conflict Matters is an initiative of the Evens Foundation, with the 2017 edition organised with the kind support of the Flemish Peace Institute and Friends House.
