Organised by EFC member, Foundation for an open Society DOTS, the Conversation festival LAMPA is a nation-wide open-air annual democracy festival organised in Cēsis, Latvia, since 2015.
LAMPA celebrates democratic culture and provides an open, engaging and joyful environment for vigorous and enthralling conversations for everyone who cares about Latvia, Europe, and the world.
The festival offerings enable one to overcome apathy – two uplifting days, during which one can sharpen one’s mind, expand one’s horizons, and challenge one’s assumptions. It is an inspiring and energising platform for everyone, who has something to say.
LAMPA’s mission is to strengthen democratic conversation culture in Latvia, to foster civic engagement and active involvement in social and political processes and to encourage a lust for lifelong learning in an ever-changing world.
Many organisations and activists are involved in its creation and cooking up festival events. In 2018, LAMPA will feature more than 200 events – conversations, debates, talks, lectures, workshops, performances, stand-ups, and many more – in Latvian, English and Russian language. The programme will be announced one month prior to the festival.
LAMPA is a part of the Democracy Festival Platform and admission is free, no RSVP needed!
