One of the EFC’s key roles is to work towards better policy and regulatory environments for philanthropy. As part of this we are collaborating with DAFNE in a joint initiative called “Philanthropy Advocacy”. Part of last year’s joint work was the publication of an academic study, ‘Enlarging the space for European Philanthropy’ which we have used to develop a Philanthropy Manifesto which includes 4 key recommendations:
- Recognise philanthropy
- Reduce barriers to cross-border philanthropy
- Enable and protect philanthropy
- Co-grant and co-invest for public good
The EFC and DAFNE will present these recommendations to policymakers from the European Commission at the launch of the Manifesto on the 20th March at 18.00 in Philanthropy House.
This event is by invitation only. Please contact Hanna Surmatz for more information.
