Pathways to Justice: A Climate Justice Funders Roundtable takes place on Wednesday, 12 September from 11:30 – 14:00 in San Francisco.
Hosted by the Climate Justice Resilience Fund, Mary Robinson Foundation—Climate Justice, and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, this workshop is designed for foundations, philanthropists, investors and partners interested in the intersection of climate change and social justice — also known as climate justice. Climate justice means making sure climate action respects human rights and empowers disadvantaged groups. This funders roundtable will explore opportunities to collaborate in support of rights-based, community-driven activities to address climate change. It builds upon a series of events the partners have convened over the past year.
The roundtable will:
- Explore how climate action intersects with poverty, indigenous peoples, water access, food security, women’s rights, youth engagement, migration, and other social justice priorities
- Craft contributions to the Global Climate Action Summit discussions
- Identify concrete entry points to foster funder learning and collaboration going forward
Speakers include Mary Robinson, Anne Henshaw of the Oak Foundation, and grassroots leader Constance Okollet from Uganda.
