MuseumWeek is an international online event celebrating and showcasing over 5000 cultural institutions’ and initiatives across 7 days, 7 themes and 7 hashtags in 120 countries worldwide. It provides an opportunity for art galleries, libraries, archival institutions and science centres worldwide to share and discuss their passions with the public on social networks, using hashtags dedicated to the event. In previous editions, the initiative generated significant awareness on the issue of women in the arts, through a worldwide digital campaign.

Fondation Chanel partnered with MuseumWeek as part of the three year programme #WomenInCulture, to get the general public and participants (museums, cultural institutions) thinking about the role of women in the arts.
