The Young People in the Lead advisory panel meets monthly to help the National Lottery Community Fund to decide what work to focus on and how it should be achieved.
The National Lottery Community Fund is the largest funder of children and youth in the UK and for 2020 and beyond has sought to ensure that young people’s voices are included in all of their work. To this end they have recruited 12 young people from across the projects they fund to work closely with the Head of Youth Voice and advice the organisation throughout 2020.
The aim is to meet the issues young people and their communities are facing head on, with the aim of steering significant and positive change in communities.
Joanne Rich, Head of Youth Voice at The National Lottery Community Fund has written a blog about her experiences of spending a year working with the Young People in the Lead team.
