The EFC is launching a new survey in relation to Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and their work in transitioning our economy for greater prosperity and environmental sustainability.

The EFC’s European Environmental Funders Group (EEFG) is exploring alternative economic models and transitions to more sustainable, fairer economies. In order for funders to better understand CSO needs, interests and capacities, we are launching a survey to examine which areas CSOs are working in, which areas do CSOs strengths lie and where CSOs may benefit from further capacity building and trainings.

The purpose of the survey is to help funders better understand civil society organisations capacity building needs with a particular focus in the fields of new economy. The ultimate goal is to design a framework for funders to support CSOs in building their economic background and knowledge of new economic approaches in order to help them position their strategies within the overall new economics movement and find niche-activities that can catalyse systemic changes.

With this purpose in mind, we would be grateful if you could contribute to our online survey here: It includes 15 questions and takes around 10 minutes to complete.

In addition, we invite you to spread the word and share the survey with your members and networks so we can reach as many organisations as possible. The survey will be open until March, at which point we will analyse the responses. The analysis will help us find ways for funders to support CSOs in their work in transitioning our economy and identify areas where funders can build capacity so CSOs can work to greater effectiveness.
