The online journal, The Philanthropist has published the final article in its series on European Philanthropy, titled “Clouds on the Horizon: Lessons for Canada from Clampdowns and Cuts in Europe’s Philanthropic Space.”

The article seeks to extrapolate what lessons the philanthropic sector in Canada can learn from its European counterparts on the shrinking of civil space, changing political environments and on national and international collaborations, and features excerpts from the EFC’s Chief Executive, Gerry Salole, alongside other leaders from the sector.

Gerry contributed to the series earlier on in the year with an article titled ”Europe’s Diverse Philanthropic Sector Is Confronting Seven Interlinked Challenges” which illuminated what he calls the “not so Magnificent Seven” challenges facing institutional philanthropy in Europe.
