Cross-border philanthropy in Europe is increasing, with philanthropic organisations both investing more across national boundaries as part of their asset management strategy, and individual and corporate donors increasing their philanthropic giving outside of their home countries. But legal and fiscal barriers to effective cross-border philanthropy persist.
A large part of our work towards a favourable operating environment for philanthropy revolves around cross-border philanthropy. From 2019, this work is being carried out under the new joint DAFNE-EFC Philanthropy Advocacy initiative.
The two studies listed under “related publications” on this page were conducted jointly by the EFC and Transnational Giving Europe and shed light on the issues and challenges around cross-border philanthropy in Europe.
